Freemius has a state-of-the-art deployment and auto-update mechanism for WordPress products. Not only can you offload the entire premium version deployment and distribution to Freemius, but we also offer various advanced mechanisms such as staged rollouts and incremental updates, among other things.

However, we noticed that following a performance optimization we rolled out a few weeks ago, the staged rollout system had a regression. The unique download counter for deployments was not being properly updated. As a result, updates could roll out to all requesting sites instead of being capped at the configured limit.

We were able to identify the root cause and have deployed a fix. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. We have also added guardrails around this flow to help prevent similar regressions in the future.
