License Activation Notification Emails for WordPress Products

This week we’re rolling out a new feature requested by many of our makers. As you know, Freemius seamlessly handles selling and licensing WordPress products. Your customers can go through the Checkout either from their WordPress admin or from your own website.

After completing the Checkout, they will receive a license key that they can use to upgrade to or activate the premium version.

However, many makers gave us feedback that license keys could sometimes be misused, or customers simply didn’t remember activating them on a particular website. This could create confusion and result in unnecessary support tickets.

To address this, today we’re rolling out a new notification email that Freemius can automatically send to your users whenever their license is activated on a website.

The email will show them the website where the license was activated and will also include a link to the Customer Portal should they want to manage the license.

This feature is not enabled by default. To turn it on, go to Notifications from the top menu and find the Notify users/customer when… section. From there, enable the Their WordPress product license is activated on a website setting.
