24 Hours to Make a Difference: Join the #Freemius10 Anniversary Campaign

Today marks an important chapter for Freemius and a step forward for tech diversity. As we celebrate 10 years of empowering software makers, we’re kicking off a 24-hour fundraising campaign in support of Girls Who Code to show just how powerful a community can be in creating positive change.

Through the collective effort of our amazing software makers’ community, we’re hoping to raise a significant amount to support Girls Who Code‘s mission of closing the gender gap in technology.

How the Campaign Works

For 24 hours, today, from November 12th to 13th, Freemius and participating makers from our community will donate 100% of our revenue share to Girls Who Code.

This contribution will help provide opportunities for girls, women, and nonbinary individuals to learn coding, develop their tech skills, and forge a path toward becoming the industry’s next generation of leaders.

The campaign also creates a win-win scenario: makers gain exposure through cross-promotion and shared marketing, while also supporting a cause that creates positive real-world impact.

Using the hashtag #Freemius10, Freemius and participating businesses will amplify the campaign through social media, newsletters, and website promotions, sparking an industry-wide ripple effect of awareness.

Why This Matters: The State of Gender Diversity in Tech

Women made up 37% of computer scientists in 1995, but today, that number has plummeted to 24% — a step backward in tech diversity. This decline isn’t just a number — it represents thousands of missed opportunities and untapped potential in our industry.

Girls Who Code is leading the charge to reverse this trend.

Since 2012, they’ve empowered over 670,000 students with programs that go beyond teaching code. Through project-based learning, they’re building a movement that connects coding to real-world impact, clear career paths, and a supportive community of peers and role models.

Why Freemius Chose This Initiative

For a decade, Freemius has helped software makers turn their passions into thriving careers. Now, we’re expanding that mission by opening doors for the next generation of developers.

“As we celebrate a decade of empowering software makers, we wanted to make a meaningful impact on the future of our industry,” says Vova Feldman, CEO of Freemius. “Supporting Girls Who Code aligns perfectly with our vision of a more diverse and innovative tech landscape. We believe diverse perspectives lead to better innovation, stronger companies, and more impactful solutions.”

Our community cares about this cause, too.

“At We are AG, contributing to causes that create meaningful change is at the heart of what we do,” says Aaron Bowie, founder and CEO of We are AG. “Supporting initiatives like #Freemius10, in partnership with Girls Who Code, enables us to make a real difference. With 100% of our sales going to this campaign, we’re dedicated to empowering young women with the skills and confidence to step into coding and tech careers, helping shape a more inclusive future.”
