One Time Purchase
When a user purchases a plugin or theme using Freemius, the system will immediately try to process the payment. If the payment cannot be processed for any reason, the checkout will fail and the user will get a corresponding message.
Subscriptions
Initial Payment
When a user subscribes to a plugin or theme paid plan, Freemius will immediately try to process the initial payment. If the initial payment cannot be processed for any reason, the checkout will fail and the user will get a corresponding message.
Renewals
In case of a failed renewal payment, Freemius will retry PayPal and Credit Card failed payments according to the following schedule:
1st failed attempt:
- Send a failure email to the customer.
- Retry 1 day after the 1st failed attempt.
2nd failed attempt:
- Send a failure email to the customer.
- Retry 3 days after the previous failed attempt.
3rd failed attempt:
- Send a failure email to the customer.
- Retry 5 days after the previous failed attempt.
4th failed attempt and final:
- Cancel subscription.
- Cancel associated license.
- Send cancellation email to the customer.
